Thousands without power in Kentucky

KENTUCKY — Thousands of customers across Kentucky are without electricity Friday morning as scattered outages were reported statewide, according to data from PowerOutage.us.

As of the latest update, approximately 2,069 homes and businesses are without power, representing about 0.08% of the more than 2.4 million customers tracked across the state.

The largest concentration of outages was reported in Fleming County, where 1,388 customers were without electricity. Lewis County reported 357 outages, while Jefferson County had 173 customers affected.

Smaller outages were also reported in Greenup County, Oldham County, Hardin County, Jessamine County and Washington County.

Utility providers reporting the most outages included Fleming-Mason Energy with 1,737 customers affected, followed by Kentucky Utilities with 202 outages.

Kentucky ranks among the states with the highest number of outages nationwide, though the overall percentage of customers affected remains relatively low.

Utility crews are working to restore service, and no estimated restoration times were immediately available. Residents are encouraged to report outages to their provider and avoid downed power lines.
