
INDIANA — More than 11,000 homes and businesses across Indiana are without electricity Wednesday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, 11,810 customers statewide are reported without power out of more than 3.2 million tracked customers. The outages account for about 0.37% of electricity customers in Indiana.
Lake County reported the highest number of outages, with 1,662 customers affected.
Other counties with significant outages include Jasper County with 1,485 customers without power, Marion County with 1,358 outages and Newton County with 1,354 customers affected. Harrison County also reported 810 outages, while Madison County had 743 customers without electricity.
By utility company, Northern Indiana Public Service Company reported the largest number of outages with 4,390 customers affected. AES Indiana reported 1,425 outages, while Harrison REMC reported 811. Indiana Michigan Power listed 724 customers without electricity and Anderson Light & Power reported 695 outages.
Statewide, officials continue to monitor the outages as utility crews work to restore service. Indiana currently ranks among the states with the highest number of outages in the country.
