
INDIANA — Approximately 2,300 homes and businesses are without power across Indiana as of Wednesday afternoon, according to the latest outage data. That represents 0.07% of the 3,235,788 customers tracked statewide.
Indiana currently ranks seventh in the nation for the total number of power outages and eighth for the percentage of customers affected nationwide.
Out of Indiana’s 92 counties, Henry County has been hit the hardest, reporting 2,033 customers without electricity. By percentage, Henry County also has the highest impact, with 7.14% of its customers affected.
Other counties reporting outages include St. Joseph County with 51 customers affected, Putnam County with 50, Shelby County with 28, Marion County with 26, Lake County with 14, Floyd County with 11 and Wabash County with nine.
The outage data tracks 48 utilities across the state. Duke Energy reports the largest number of customers without service, with 2,093 outages. Parke County REMC has the highest percentage of its customers affected, with 0.4% currently without power.
Utility crews are working to restore service as quickly and safely as possible.
