
ILLINOIS — Thousands of residents across Illinois are without electricity as of Sunday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, approximately 3,127 customers are without power statewide out of more than 5.8 million customers tracked, representing about 0.05% of all customers.
Crawford County is reporting the highest number of outages, with 1,734 customers affected. Jasper County is also heavily impacted with 763 outages, followed by Clark County with 347. Smaller numbers of outages have been reported in Cook County (106) and Cumberland County (80).
By utility provider, Norris Electric Cooperative is reporting the largest number of outages, with 2,923 customers affected. The utility is also seeing the highest percentage of customers impacted, with more than 14% without power in its service area.
While the overall number of outages remains relatively low compared to the total number of customers statewide, some counties are experiencing significantly higher localized impacts.
Utility crews are continuing restoration efforts, and service is expected to be restored as work progresses.
