
GEORGIA — More than 5,000 customers across Georgia are without electricity Wednesday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, 5,036 homes and businesses statewide are experiencing outages. That represents about 0.09% of the 5,364,559 customers tracked across Georgia. The figures were last updated approximately six minutes before publication.
Georgia currently ranks seventh in the nation for the total number of reported outages and eighth for the percentage of customers affected.
Walker County has the highest number of outages in the state, with 2,984 customers without power. That accounts for 8.96% of customers in the county, making it the hardest-hit area by percentage. Other counties reporting notable outages include Hall County with 452 customers affected, Fulton County with 275, Berrien County with 235 and Henry County with 183.
Among utilities, North Georgia EMC reports the largest number of customers without power, with 2,995 outages. Georgia Power reports 1,340 customers without service statewide.
Crews are working to restore service, though no estimated restoration times were immediately available. Residents are encouraged to report outages directly to their utility provider and to use caution around downed power lines.
