Thousands without power in Florida

FLORIDA — As of Monday morning, more than 3,000 homes and businesses across Florida are without electricity, according to the latest statewide outage data.

Approximately 3,031 customers are reported without power statewide, accounting for about 0.03% of the 10,903,194 electric customers tracked across Florida.

Nationally, Florida ranked sixth in the country for the total number of customers without power and 18th for the percentage of customers affected.

Outages were scattered across several regions of the state. Of Florida’s 67 counties, Palm Beach County reported the highest number of outages, with 1,919 customers without electricity. Palm Beach County was also the hardest hit by percentage, with about 0.23% of customers affected.

Other counties reporting notable outages included Sarasota with 281 customers without power, Broward with 200, Glades with 157, Alachua with 104, Pinellas with 66, Lee with 64, and Miami-Dade with 46.

A total of 34 electric utilities were reporting outages statewide. Florida Power & Light Company accounted for the largest number of affected customers, with 2,851 outages reported. Glades Electric Cooperative reported the highest percentage of customers without power, at approximately 0.1%.

Utility crews continue restoration efforts across the state, though specific restoration timelines were not immediately available.
