
FLORIDA — Thousands of Florida residents were without electricity Tuesday evening, according to data from PowerOutage.com.
As of the latest update Tuesday night, approximately 4,880 customers were reported without power statewide out of more than 11.7 million customers tracked across Florida. While the overall percentage of outages remained low statewide, several counties were reporting notable numbers of customers without service.
Pasco County had the highest number of outages, with 3,223 customers affected. Other counties reporting outages included Manatee County with 489 customers without power, Monroe County with 288, and Hillsborough Countywith 141. Smaller outages were also reported in Seminole County, Okaloosa County, Palm Beach County, and Osceola County.
The cause of the outages was not immediately specified, though utility disruptions in Florida are often linked to storms, equipment issues, or vehicle-related incidents. Utility crews were working to restore service where outages were reported.
Residents experiencing outages are encouraged to report them directly to their electric utility and to use caution around downed power lines.
