
FLORIDA — More than 9,000 homes and businesses are without electricity across Florida as of Wednesday morning, according to outage tracking data.
Officials reported approximately 9,009 customers without power statewide, representing about 0.08% of more than 10.9 million customers being tracked. Florida currently has the second-highest number of outages in the country and ranks among the top states for percentage of customers affected.
The largest number of outages was reported in Clay County, where more than 3,700 customers were without power. Other heavily impacted areas included Leon County with over 2,100 outages and Hillsborough County with more than 700.
Additional outages were reported in Miami-Dade County, Citrus County and Broward County.
Among utility providers, Clay Electric Cooperative reported the highest number of outages, followed by Talquin Electric Cooperative and Florida Power & Light Company.
Crews are working to restore power, and officials continue to monitor conditions statewide.
