
FLORIDA — Thousands of customers across Florida are without electricity Friday morning as scattered outages were reported statewide, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, approximately 4,891 homes and businesses are without power, representing about 0.04% of the more than 10.9 million customers tracked across the state.
The largest concentration of outages was reported in Pinellas County, where 3,848 customers were without electricity. Smaller outages were reported in Miami-Dade County with 234 customers affected and Broward County with 200 outages.
Additional outages were reported in Alachua County, Sarasota County, Polk County, Lafayette County and Lee County.
Utility providers reporting the most outages included Duke Energy with 3,862 customers affected, followed by Florida Power & Light Company with 833 outages.
Statewide, Florida ranks among the states with the highest number of outages in the country, though the percentage of customers affected remains relatively low.
Utility crews are working to restore service, and no estimated restoration times were immediately available. Residents are encouraged to report outages to their provider and avoid downed power lines.
