
FLORIDA — Thousands of Florida residents are experiencing power outages Tuesday morning, according to the latest statewide outage data.
Currently, 2,730 homes and businesses across Florida are without electricity, representing about 0.03% of the 10,917,094 customers tracked statewide.
Despite the relatively small percentage of customers affected, Florida currently has the third-highest number of power outages in the United States and ranks 12th nationwide for the percentage of customers without service.
Among Florida’s 67 counties, Miami-Dade County has the largest number of outages, with 1,308 customers without power. Miami-Dade is also the hardest-hit county by percentage, with approximately 0.1% of customers affected.
Other counties reporting outages include Palm Beach County with 967 customers without power, Broward County with 200, Alachua County with 107, Brevard County with 54, Charlotte County with 36, Indian River County with 17, and Manatee County with 14 outages.
Utility providers are also reporting scattered outages across their service areas. Florida Power & Light Company has the largest number of affected customers, with 2,709 outages reported, and also the highest percentage of customers without power at about 0.05%.
Utility crews continue monitoring the situation and working to restore power where outages remain.
