KENTUCKY — More than 30,000 homes and businesses remain without power following a snow and ice storm across Kentucky as of Monday evening, according to the latest outage data.
Statewide, 30,150 customers remain without power, accounting for 1.22% of the state’s 2,473,846 tracked utility customers. Kentucky currently has the fifth-highest number of power outages in the United States and ranks fourth nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.
The most severe outages are centered in Allen County, where 5,087 customers remain without power. That represents 33.57% of all utility customers in the county, making Allen the hardest-hit county in Kentucky.
Utility crews continue restoration efforts as icy roads, fallen trees, and damaged power lines slow progress. Among the 42 utilities tracked statewide, Tri-County Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) is reporting the largest number of outages, with 12,920 customers still without power.
By percentage, Tri-County EMC is also the hardest-hit utility in the state, with 30.82% of its customers remaining without power as repair work continues.
Residents are urged to use caution, avoid downed power lines, and follow heating and generator safety guidelines while restoration efforts continue.
