NORTH CAROLINA — Around 4,000 residents in Huntersville were left without power Tuesday morning after a transmission line was damaged, town officials reported.

The outage began around 8:30 a.m. on July 15, affecting ElectriCities customers in the areas near Gilead and Sam Furr roads.

Traffic lights along Gilead Road were also out due to the power loss.

Duke Energy confirmed that a damaged transmission line caused the outage.

At this time, no estimate has been provided for when power will be restored.
