PENNSYLVANIA — Nearly 38,000 customers across Pennsylvania were without electricity as of early Friday morning following a line of strong storms that moved through the state overnight, according to PowerOutage.com.

As of the latest update, 37,606 customers were reported without power out of more than 6.7 million customers tracked statewide. The outages were scattered across several regions, with the highest concentrations in southeastern and western Pennsylvania.

Chester County reported the most significant number of outages, with 5,398 customers without service. Westmoreland County followed with 4,534 outages, while Montgomery County reported 3,867 customers without power.

Greene County saw 2,347 outages, and Allegheny County reported 1,778 customers affected. Additional outages were reported in Northumberland County with 1,691 customers without electricity, Clearfield County with 1,599, and Fayette County with 1,511.

The outages occurred after a strong line of storms swept across Pennsylvania late Thursday night into early Friday morning.

The storms brought heavy rain and gusty winds, which likely caused trees and limbs to fall onto power lines and led to damage to electrical infrastructure. Utility crews responded overnight and continued restoration efforts Friday morning.

Residents were advised to avoid downed power lines and to report outages or hazards directly to their utility providers.
