TENNESSEE — A student was taken into custody after a firearm was discovered on the campus of Alcorn Central High School, according to the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said deputies received a tip about a vehicle entering the school campus. After being alerted, school and district staff approached the vehicle when it arrived on school grounds.
Authorities reported that the vehicle was searched and a handgun was found inside. The firearm was immediately seized, and the student was taken into custody by deputies.
No injuries were reported in connection with the incident. An investigation remains ongoing, and officials said more details will be released as they become available.
