OHIO — A crash involving a teenage driver and two passengers, including a toddler, is under investigation after all three were hospitalized, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers reported that around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, a 2014 Hyundai Veloster was traveling westbound on Maine Street in the Village of Mifflin when it veered off the road and struck a tree.
The driver, a 17-year-old male, had an 18-year-old female passenger and her 3-year-old daughter in the vehicle.
The female passenger sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while the driver and the toddler suffered minor injuries, troopers said.
According to the patrol, all occupants were wearing proper seat belts or safety equipment.
However, authorities reported that both speed and alcohol appear to have been factors in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
