KETTERING — A tense standoff in a Kettering neighborhood ended Thursday afternoon with the arrest of a suspect after nearly six hours.
Kettering police, along with SWAT personnel, responded to a home in the 3100 block of Bulah Avenue around 8:30 a.m.
Authorities were in a standoff with an individual inside the residence, repeatedly using loudspeakers to order the person to surrender.
As the situation unfolded, police deployed tear gas and caused damage to the front of the home in an effort to gain entry.
Crime scene tape cordoned off the area as officers worked to resolve the standoff.
The incident concluded shortly before 2 p.m. when the suspect was taken into custody.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the individual or details about what led to the standoff.
No injuries have been reported.
