GEORGIA — Muscogee County School District Police have identified a suspect in connection with recent social media threats made against eight schools in the district.

Arrest warrants have been issued for 18-year-old Maliek Brooks, who is charged with eight counts of terroristic threats—one for each school named in the online post. School officials said Brooks is not a student in the Muscogee County School District.

The threat referenced the following schools:

  • Midland Middle School
  • East Columbus Magnet Academy
  • Rothschild Middle School
  • Fort Middle School
  • Baker Middle School
  • Shaw High School
  • Eddy Middle School
  • Double Churches Middle School

Authorities later determined the threat was not credible.

The investigation is ongoing, and no additional details have been released.
