OHIO — A student was struck by a car in the parking lot at Clifford Stadium during a high school football game Friday night. The driver fled the scene after the incident, according to officials.
The Cuyahoga Falls City School District said the student, who is not in high school, was not injured. Emergency medical personnel were dispatched as a precaution. Two other vehicles in the lot were also damaged.
Witnesses at the scene provided the vehicle’s license plate number and video footage to police, who have since identified the driver.
“We are grateful to the community members who stepped forward to assist during this situation and to the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department for their swift response,” the district said in a statement to parents.
The school district added that student and family safety remains its top priority and confirmed that the matter is now under police investigation.
The Cuyahoga Falls Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident.
