NORTH CAROLINA — A student was hit by a car Tuesday morning in front of Panther Creek High School, according to the Cary Police Department.

Police said the incident happened around 7 a.m. as the student was crossing McCrimmon Parkway in front of the school. The vehicle involved was driven by another student.

The pedestrian, who was not using a crosswalk, was taken to the hospital as a precaution. The driver was not injured, and no charges have been filed, police said.

A sedan with visible damage to its front windshield was seen parked outside the school as officers investigated. By 8:45 a.m., police had cleared the car from the scene and removed yellow tape from the area.

The crash caused some traffic delays around the school. Authorities urged students, pedestrians, and drivers to use extra caution in the area.
