SOUTH CAROLINA — A staff member at Berea Middle School in Greenville County, South Carolina, was injured Tuesday after a portion of the ceiling collapsed in the school’s kitchen.
According to the Greenville County School District, the incident occurred during school hours, and emergency medical services responded to the scene.
The injured staff member was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of the injuries was not immediately released.
District officials said no students were in the cafeteria at the time of the incident, and no students were injured.
