INDIANA — A Hendricks County snowplow driver was arrested Tuesday evening after authorities said he crashed a county snowplow while impaired.
According to the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a Hendricks County Highway Department snowplow around 5:45 p.m. on Jan. 27. The crash occurred on County Road 550 West near Stilesville.
Investigators said the snowplow left the roadway and rolled onto its passenger side in a ditch. When deputies arrived at the scene, the driver was already out of the vehicle and was not injured. However, deputies reported observing signs of possible impairment.
Deputies conducted an operating while intoxicated investigation and subsequently arrested the driver. The driver was taken to the Hendricks County Jail.
The Hendricks County Prosecutor’s Office will determine whether formal charges will be filed.
