KENTUCKY — A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect across several parts of Kentucky as snow, sleet and light freezing rain are expected to create slick travel conditions Monday morning.

According to the National Weather Service Wilmington OH, portions of northern Kentucky — including Boone, Kenton, Campbell, Gallatin, Grant, Pendleton, Bracken, Robertson, Mason and Lewis counties — remain under an advisory until 11 a.m. EST. F

orecasters say total snow and sleet accumulations up to one inch are possible, along with ice accumulations of up to one-tenth of an inch. Cities including Covington, Florence, Independence, Williamstown, Falmouth, Maysville and Vanceburg could see slick roads, especially on bridges and overpasses.

Farther south, the National Weather Service Jackson KY has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Bath, Elliott, Fleming and Rowan counties until 11 a.m. EST.

A light glaze of ice is anticipated on elevated surfaces, with minor snow and sleet accumulations of less than one inch possible. Communities such as Morehead, Flemingsburg, Owingsville and Sandy Hook may experience slippery travel during the morning commute.

In parts of north central Kentucky, including Oldham, Trimble, Henry, Shelby, Franklin, Scott, Harrison, Bourbon and Nicholas counties, the National Weather Service Louisville KY reports light snow mixed with sleet and some freezing rain through 10 a.m. EST.

Snow accumulations of a coating to one inch are possible, along with a light glaze on elevated surfaces. Cities such as Frankfort, Shelbyville, Georgetown, Paris and Cynthiana are included in the advisory.

Officials warn that untreated roads, bridges and overpasses may become slick, potentially impacting the Monday morning commute. Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution. Road conditions across Kentucky can be monitored at goky.ky.gov or by calling 511.
