Snowfall event underway in Ohio, slick roads possible

OHIO — The National Weather Service in Wilmington is warning residents to brace for gusty winds and wintry weather today.

Wind gusts of up to 30 mph are expected, making it feel even colder with wind chills in the 20s as air temperatures hover in the 30s.

Two rounds of snow are forecast, one during the morning commute and another closer to the evening rush hour.

While road temperatures are expected to stay above freezing, officials caution that slick spots may develop, particularly on bridges and overpasses.

Snow may also accumulate on grassy or elevated surfaces.

Drivers should be prepared for sudden drops in visibility during snowfall and are advised to slow down and leave extra space between vehicles.

The National Weather Service reminds residents to plan accordingly for the wintry conditions and take extra care when traveling.
