ALABAMA — Six people — including four adults and two juveniles — were arrested Feb. 27 in connection with a series of vehicle break-ins at apartment complexes in Opelika.
According to the Opelika Police Department, officers responded around 4:52 a.m. to a report of two men breaking into a truck at The Austin Apartments, located at 3000 Ballfields Loop. When officers arrived, they observed the suspects fleeing the area in a burgundy passenger car.
While some officers remained at the complex to speak with victims, others searched the surrounding area for the vehicle. Police later located a car matching the description at an apartment complex on Dale Avenue.
At approximately 6:36 a.m., four males and one female exited a nearby apartment and were taken into custody. After obtaining a search warrant for the residence, officers recovered six stolen firearms and various personal items reported missing by victims.
The following individuals were charged with four counts of unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle and two counts of second-degree theft of property: Adolph Litay Dunn Jr., 18, of Auburn; Gabriel Drayon Williams, 18, of Lanett; Damarius Kobe Wall, 18, of Valley; and two male juveniles.
Kandace Laklynn Fabiani, 23, of Opelika, was charged with five counts of second-degree receiving stolen property.
The investigation remains ongoing.
