TEXAS — Authorities have arrested six people and seized nearly 200 grams of methamphetamine following several drug investigations in Nacogdoches County, according to the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators first executed a search warrant on Feb. 24 at a home in the 200 block of College Street. During the search, deputies found 53 grams of methamphetamine and 29 grams of crack cocaine hidden inside a secret compartment.

Howard Clay Cooper, 53, and Jessica Marie Andy, 36, both of Nacogdoches, were arrested at the residence. Each was charged with two counts of manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance, a first-degree felony. Cooper’s bond was set at $200,000, while Andy’s bond was set at $150,000.

In a separate undercover operation, investigators purchased methamphetamine from a home on County Road 563 in the Kingtown community. A search of that residence on Feb. 20 uncovered drug paraphernalia and items used for drug distribution.

Robert Williams, 42, was charged with delivery of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony. Charlie Franklin Rickenbacker, 80, was charged with a second-degree felony. Their bonds were set at $100,000 and $50,000, respectively.

Deputies also conducted a traffic stop on FM 2782 after becoming suspicious of the occupants’ behavior. During questioning, Amber Leigh Kinkaid, 47, admitted she was carrying a large quantity of methamphetamine. Authorities recovered about 140 grams of meth.

Kinkaid and the other occupant, Mathew Bradley Whitaker, 22, were both charged with delivery of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony, and were held on $20,000 bonds.

Kinkaid posted bond the following day, while the other suspects remain in the Nacogdoches County Jail.
