Six people arrested following drug bust in Georgia

GEORGIA — The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office arrested six people Tuesday on drug and weapons charges following a coordinated law enforcement operation at a local hotel.

According to the sheriff’s office, members of the SWAT Team, Narcotics Division and Crime Suppression Team executed two search warrants at approximately 2:45 p.m. at the Budgetel Inn and Suites. The warrants were served on two separate rooms at the property.

During the operation, deputies seized about 103.7 grams of fentanyl, 3.9 grams of crack cocaine, 35 oxycodone tablets and additional miscellaneous narcotics. Authorities also recovered two firearms, one of which was confirmed to be stolen.

James Berrian was arrested on charges including an order to show cause and outstanding warrants for armed robbery, aggravated assault, robbery and other authority warrants. Maricus Adams was charged with trafficking fentanyl. Nathan Williams was taken into custody on outstanding warrants from Burke County.

Tkeyhia Lowe faces multiple charges, including trafficking fentanyl, possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute, theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and a state court bench warrant. Anazario Calhoun was charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Braylon Jacobs faces charges of trafficking fentanyl, possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute, theft by receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

All six individuals were taken into custody and transported without incident. The sheriff’s office said the investigation was made possible in part by information provided by community members. The investigation remains active.
