Six inches of snow possible in parts of Ohio this week

OHIO — The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a snowfall forecast for northern Ohio, with accumulations expected to vary significantly by location.

The forecast covers the period from 1 a.m. Tuesday, January 14, through 1 a.m. Thursday, January 16.

The heaviest snowfall is anticipated in the northeastern parts of the state, particularly in areas near Lake Erie.

Ashtabula and Mentor are expected to receive between 4 and 6 inches of snow. Nearby, Chardon and Orwell could see totals of 3 to 4 inches.

Further inland, accumulations will taper off. Akron, Youngstown, and Cortland are forecast to receive 1 to 2 inches.

Cities such as Cleveland, Elyria, and Medina are expected to receive minimal snowfall, with totals under 1 inch.

Drivers are advised to use caution as the snowfall could impact road conditions, particularly in areas expecting higher totals.
