OHIO — Drivers traveling along East 9th Street in Cleveland should prepare for detours after a giant sinkhole appeared in the area, according to city officials.
The sinkhole has forced the closure of the roadway between East 9th Street, state Route 2, and North Marginal Road.
City crews are currently at the scene assessing the damage and beginning repairs.
While vehicle access is restricted, pedestrians can still use the sidewalk on the west side of the road.
Detour routes for drivers will direct traffic from state Route 2 to West 3rd Street and onto North Marginal Road.
City officials have not yet provided an estimate for how long the repairs will take. Travelers are advised to use caution and plan alternate routes.
