LOUISIANA — A convenience store owner was arrested Wednesday after authorities confiscated kratom pills, a firearm, and bundles of cash during a raid in New Roads.
The Pointe Coupee Parish Narcotics Task Force raided the Time Wise Convenience Store on Parent Street, where deputies found four bags of kratom pills, a Glock handgun, and 24 bundles of cash.
The store owner, Adel Saleh Ahmed Abdo, was arrested and charged with distribution of a Schedule I narcotic, possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I narcotic, and possession of a firearm in the presence of controlled dangerous substances.
The investigation remains ongoing, according to the Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff’s Office.
