Shootings with injuries reported at two halloween parties in Ohio

OHIO — Halloween parties have begun in Ohio this week and there have already been two shootings at two separate parties.

Two separate Halloween parties in Ohio turned violent on Oct. 27, leaving one person dead and three others hospitalized.

In the early hours of Oct. 27, Springfield Township Police responded to a shooting at 12:15 a.m. at 1443 Canton Road. Officers found two adult male victims: one with a gunshot wound and the other with injuries consistent with an assault.

Medical personnel from the Springfield Township Fire Department provided assistance at the scene, and both victims were transported to a nearby hospital.

According to police, one of the victims later died from his injuries, while the second remained hospitalized. The victims’ identities are being withheld pending family notification.

Later that same morning, another shooting broke out after a fight at a Halloween party in Columbus’s Hilltop neighborhood.

Columbus police were called to the 100 block of South Oakley Avenue at around 2:15 a.m.

Two adults were found with gunshot wounds and taken to a hospital, where they are expected to survive. Police have not released any suspect information in connection with this incident.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.
