OHIO — Residents across the region can expect a wet and windy day as rain continues this morning, with breaks anticipated by the afternoon.
However, a line of showers and thunderstorms is forecast to develop later in the day and move northeast across the area, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Cleveland.
Some of these storms could be severe, with the greatest risk occurring between 2 and 8 p.m.
The NWS has issued a Wind Advisory for today and tonight, warning of wind gusts up to 50 mph.
In addition to the unsettled weather, temperatures are expected to soar well above seasonal norms.
Many areas may see temperatures briefly climb above 60 degrees this afternoon, about 20 to 25 degrees higher than average for late December.
Residents are advised to stay updated on weather alerts and take precautions for potential severe storms and high winds.
