OHIO — A winter weather advisory will take effect at 7 p.m. Monday for the entire Miami Valley and remain in place until 10 a.m. Tuesday, the National Weather Service reported.
Accumulating snow is expected across the region. Areas south of I-70 could see 1 to 3 inches of snow, with isolated amounts up to 4 inches possible under heavier bands. North of I-70, including Mercer, Auglaize, Shelby, and Logan counties, snowfall totals are forecast between 3 and 6 inches.
The snow is expected to begin this evening and continue through Tuesday morning, with the heaviest snowfall occurring after midnight and lasting until roughly 6 a.m.
Travel is not advised during the advisory, as untreated backroads may remain hazardous even after the snow ends. Commuters who must travel are urged to exercise caution and allow extra time, as morning commutes are likely to be difficult.
