Seven people arrested following drug, weapons bust in Florida

FLORIDA — A citywide prostitution sting conducted by the West Palm Beach Police Department took an unexpected turn Thursday when a routine traffic stop uncovered a significant drug and gun cache along with multiple felony charges.

The targeted operation resulted in seven arrests across the city. Six individuals were charged with solicitation of prostitution and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.

During the sting, officers stopped 28-year-old Arthur Edwards for traffic violations.

Edwards, whose driver’s license was suspended, was arrested at the scene. A subsequent search of his vehicle revealed 32.7 grams of cocaine and a loaded firearm.

Edwards now faces several charges, including cocaine trafficking, possession with intent to sell, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, driving with a suspended license, and two traffic infractions.
