KENTUCKY — Winter weather concerns have led to extensive school closures and schedule adjustments across Kentucky for Friday, December 12, 2025.
Multiple school districts announced that classes will not meet in person due to expected snow and potentially hazardous road conditions.
Franklin County Schools will be closed, operating on a Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) Day, while Rowan County will also close under NTI Day #2.
Menifee County, Morgan County, Robertson County, Marion County, Lakeside Christian Academy in Morehead, Waco Christian Academy, and the Kentucky School for the Deaf have all announced full closures as well. Several of these districts designated the day as traditional snow days, while others will continue instruction remotely.
Good Shepherd Day School in Lexington plans to open one hour late, marking one of the few delayed starts in the region. Carroll County Schools will operate on an NTI schedule, and Eminence Independent Schools will be closed with virtual learning only.
In Hardin County, both Fort Knox Community Schools and the Fort Knox Military Post will operate on a two-hour delay, while Hardin County Schools will conduct NTI instruction for both morning and afternoon sessions.
Officials across the Commonwealth urged families to monitor local announcements as weather conditions may shift overnight, potentially impacting additional districts.
