Potential sites for Buc-ee’s expansion in West Virginia

WEST VIRGINIA — While Buc-ee’s, the popular Texas-based travel center chain, has not announced official plans to open a location in West Virginia, several areas within the state present logical opportunities for future expansion.

One promising region is the Eastern Panhandle, particularly along the Interstate 81 corridor near Martinsburg.

This area experiences significant traffic from travelers moving between Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, making it a strategic location for a Buc-ee’s.

Charleston, the state capital, is another viable option.

Situated at the intersection of Interstates 64, 77, and 79, Charleston serves as a central hub for both residents and travelers, offering high visibility and accessibility.

Morgantown, home to West Virginia University, is located near the junction of Interstates 79 and 68.

The city’s vibrant community and steady influx of students and visitors could support a large-scale Buc-ee’s establishment.

Additionally, Beckley, positioned along Interstate 77 and in proximity to the New River Gorge National Park, attracts numerous tourists year-round.

A Buc-ee’s in this area could cater to both local residents and outdoor enthusiasts.

As Buc-ee’s continues its expansion across the United States, these West Virginia locations offer strategic advantages that align with the company’s growth model.
