Portion of I-64 shut down following vehicle crash in Virginia

VIRGINIA — Drivers traveling on Interstate 64 eastbound in New Kent County Saturday morning are experiencing significant delays due to a multi-vehicle crash.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) reported the crash just before 10:30 a.m. near mile marker 211 at the Emmaus Church Road interchange.

By 10:40 a.m., the left shoulder, left lane, and right lane were all closed, causing traffic to back up approximately 5.5 miles.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes as first responders worked to clear the scene.
