Popular rapper killed in Ohio shooting

COLUMBUS — A Florida rapper, Michael Robinson, better known by his stage name “Ralan Styles,” was killed in a shooting over the weekend in Victorian Village, according to police reports.

Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called to the 300 block of West 3rd Avenue on an unspecified complaint.

Upon arriving, they were flagged down by a witness who directed them to Robinson, 22, who had been shot multiple times.

Authorities have not yet determined what led to the shooting.

However, 24-year-old Mahamood Hassan was later arrested and charged with murder after being identified by witnesses in a photo lineup. Hassan is currently being held on a $2 million bond.

Robinson, who gained recognition for his viral remix of “Baby Shark,” was signed to Big Money Records.

The label announced his death in a heartfelt Instagram post: “It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news that our beloved artist, Michael Robinson, known to many as Ralan Styles, was taken from us early this morning at 5:10 AM.”

The statement went on to describe Robinson as “not just an incredible talent but also a kind-hearted soul” who impacted many through his music. His label promised that his legacy would live on through the songs he created.

Robinson’s death has left his fans and the music community in mourning as police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
