TEXAS — A large-scale drug investigation in Hidalgo County has led to the seizure of hundreds of pounds of cocaine in rural Edinburg, according to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s officials said the operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 462 pounds of cocaine from a residence in the 19300 block of Citrus Drive. Investigators reported that the drugs were found inside a home as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking activity in the area.
Authorities said a total of 189 packages of cocaine were recovered during the search, making it one of the largest cocaine seizures in recent years for Hidalgo County. No additional details about arrests or potential suspects were immediately released.
The sheriff’s office said the seizure reflects continued efforts to disrupt and dismantle large-scale drug trafficking operations in the region. Investigators said the case remains active as they work to identify and locate those responsible.
