Police searching for wanted theft suspect in Ohio

OHIO — In March 2025, the Lululemon Organized Retail Crime Investigation Team launched a probe into Janika Johnson for a series of high-value thefts at Lululemon stores located in Polaris Mall and Easton Town Center.

Johnson, nicknamed “The Black Bag Bandit,” concealed thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise in large black bags during her thefts.

Investigators uncovered that Johnson operated with several accomplices and was selling stolen items through social media platforms, including her personal Facebook account. She is linked to 15 theft incidents at Lululemon alone, with losses totaling nearly $99,000.

In addition to Lululemon, Johnson targeted other retailers such as Bath & Body Works, Ulta Beauty, Carter’s, and Old Navy. Authorities estimate her total thefts from local stores over the past six months to be close to $250,000. Warrants have been issued for her arrest as the investigation continues.
