TENNESSEE — Police are searching for an armed and dangerous man believed to be responsible for a stabbing that occurred Wednesday night in Athens.
According to the Athens Police Department, 32-year-old David Rodriguez Cruz is wanted on a charge of attempted first-degree murder in connection with a stabbing reported at 711 Hamby Street, Lot 23. Authorities said the victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of their injuries. The victim’s condition has not been released.
Police said Rodriguez Cruz is believed to be traveling in a 2005 Toyota Highlander bearing a North Carolina license plate number LBK9152. Investigators do not believe he is currently in the immediate Athens area.
APD is warning the public not to approach Rodriguez Cruz if he is located, as he is considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information about Rodriguez Cruz or the vehicle is urged to contact the Athens Police Department immediately or call 911.
