
VIRGINIA — The Patrick County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a Martinsville man wanted in connection with a shooting that injured one person south of Stuart.
Deputies said 29-year-old Michael Cody Solomon is wanted on multiple warrants related to a shooting that occurred Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026. Deputies were dispatched to Stuart Community Hospital to meet with a 27-year-old man from Stuart who was being treated for a gunshot wound.
According to the sheriff’s office, investigators learned the man was shot at a vacant lot along Salem Highway, south of Stuart, following a pre-planned meeting with Solomon. Deputies responded to the location, secured the scene, and collected evidence.
Investigators said Solomon arrived at the location first in a black SUV, with the victim arriving shortly afterward. During the meeting, several rounds were fired, striking the Stuart man once in the wrist. Solomon then fled the scene and is believed to be in Henry County, according to authorities.
The sheriff’s office said Solomon holds warrants for attempted armed robbery, malicious wounding, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Investigators stated the shooting was an isolated incident between known acquaintances and that the general public is not believed to be in danger.
