VIRGINIA — Roanoke Police are actively searching for 24-year-old Rayjuan Antonio Calloway, who is accused of fatally shooting his father, 57-year-old Israel Calloway.
Authorities announced the suspect was spotted Sunday morning around 7:30 a.m. by a Farmville Police officer along Prince Edward Highway.
Officials say Rayjuan Calloway fired a shot at the officer and then fled on foot.
A large-scale search is now underway in Prince Edward County involving both state and local law enforcement agencies.
Residents within a five-mile radius of Prince Edward Highway and Hixburg Road have been advised to shelter in place, lock their doors, and report any suspicious activity by calling 911.
The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement is urging anyone with information on Rayjuan Calloway’s whereabouts to come forward.
