
VIRGINIA — Virginia State Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting on Interstate 85.
Troopers were called around 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, to a report of a shooting along I-85 north at mile marker 5. When they arrived, they found a Honda Civic that had run off the right side of the road and stopped at a covered drain. The driver, identified as 20-year-old Hunter A. Bates, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have obtained warrants for Jason Allen Glidewell II, 19, of Bracey, Virginia.
He is charged with second-degree murder and using a firearm in the commission of a felony. Glidewell is described as Caucasian, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 160 pounds.
He is believed to have ties to Richmond and Henrico and may be driving a silver 2007 Chevy Avalanche with Virginia license plate TFN 1004. Authorities said Glidewell should be considered armed and dangerous.
