TENNESSEE — A 21-year-old man with a violent criminal history has been added to the Metro Nashville Police Department’s “Most Wanted” list for the week of June 25, 2025.
De’Tynn Smith is wanted for multiple felonies, including first-degree premeditated murder, attempted first-degree premeditated murder, aggravated robbery, and using a weapon during the commission of a dangerous felony, according to Metro police.
Smith has a history of violent offenses in Nashville. In 2022, at the age of 18, he and another suspect, Alan Beverly, were charged with carjacking, evading arrest, and vehicle theft.
Police said the two carjacked a woman’s Chevrolet Malibu in late May 2022 and threatened her 8-year-old son at gunpoint outside a Jefferson Street market.
The stolen vehicle was later located at a Walmart on Dickerson Pike, where both suspects attempted to flee on foot. Smith reportedly tossed a pistol while running, which was later recovered by police.
Smith has previously appeared on the “Most Wanted” list, including a 2023 stint when he was considered the department’s “Top Most Wanted” fugitive. He was most recently added to the list in December 2024 before resurfacing this week.
The “Most Wanted” list features some of the city’s most violent offenders, often including individuals indicted for crimes such as murder, sexual assault, and domestic violence.
Since its launch in October 2022, more than 165 fugitives featured on the list have been apprehended or surrendered, including over a dozen in 2025 alone.
Anyone with information about Smith’s whereabouts is urged to contact Metro Nashville Police at 615-862-8600 or Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers can remain anonymous.
