Police searching for wanted murder suspect in Pennsylvania

PENNSYLVANIA — Police in York are searching for a homicide suspect and are urging the public not to approach him, authorities said.

According to the York City Police Department, an arrest warrant has been obtained for 19-year-old Jeremiah Beato in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on Jan. 11, 2026. Police said the shooting happened inside a residence in the 900 block of East King Street.

In a statement, police said the suspect and the victim were known to each other. Investigators have not determined a motive for the shooting at this time.

Beato is described as approximately 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing about 130 pounds, with long hair worn in dreadlocks. Police said he may be suffering from a mental deficiency and should not be approached. Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911 immediately.
