PENNSYLVANIA — The Pennsylvania State Police are searching for a Greene County man accused of shooting his parents Friday afternoon, killing his mother and injuring his father.
State police said troopers from the Waynesburg barracks were called to the area of Garrison Ridge Road in New Freeport at about 2 p.m. Officers arriving at the scene found a husband and wife suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a hospital in West Virginia for treatment.
Authorities said the woman later died from her injuries at the hospital. Her husband was treated and has since been released.
Police identified the suspected shooter as the couple’s son, Jared Noll, 18. Investigators believe Noll fled the scene on foot. Troopers conducted an extensive search of the area surrounding the home but were unable to locate him.
As of 10 a.m. Saturday, Noll remained at large. State police warned that he may be armed and should be considered dangerous.
Noll is described as a white male with brown hair, thick eyebrows and a mustache. He is approximately 6 feet tall with a normal build. Police said he was last seen wearing a camouflage hoodie, blue jeans and brown boots.
Anyone who sees Noll or has information about his whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately.
