VIRGINIA — The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two suspects — one identified and one unidentified — in connection with an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday afternoon.
Deputies responded to the 2000 block of Old Rustburg Road at 3:33 p.m. for a report of a robbery.
Investigators determined that a man known to the victim as “BG” arrived at the residence, displayed a handgun, and stole an undisclosed amount of money. The victim was also physically assaulted during the incident.
The suspect known as BG has been identified as 39-year-old Wendell Lewis Franklin of Myrtle Street. He is wanted on multiple charges, including robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, brandishing a firearm, and assault and battery.
A second man, described as a Black male approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with a close-cut hairstyle, was also involved. Both suspects fled the scene in a dark-colored, mid-sized SUV, possibly a Chevrolet or GMC.
Anyone with information on Franklin’s whereabouts or the identity of the second suspect is urged to contact the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office at (434) 332-9574.
