OHIO — Police are searching for a theft suspect who led officers on a chase Tuesday and intentionally rammed a police cruiser before escaping, authorities said.
According to Creston Police Chief Christopher Millhorn, officers responded to a report of a theft at True Value Hardware, where a Wayne County Sheriff’s deputy was already on scene. As officers arrived, the suspect’s vehicle was seen fleeing the area.
During the pursuit, the suspect stopped and reversed into the pursuing officer’s cruiser, disabling the vehicle. The suspect then drove off and remains at large.
The officer was not injured in the incident.
