OHIO — Police in Warren said a mini-bike driver led officers on a chase earlier this week before fleeing on foot.

According to authorities, an officer spotted the motorized mini-bike around 6 a.m. Monday on Youngstown Road. The officer reported that the bike was speeding through neighborhoods, failing to stop at stop signs, and weaving between lanes.

The officer eventually caught up with the driver at the intersection of Sunset and Kenilworth drives.

Police said the driver did not have a license, claiming he didn’t believe one was required to operate a mini-bike. When asked for his Social Security number, the driver reportedly did not know it.

As the officer instructed the driver to lean forward on the bike, he ran away. Police were unable to locate him immediately, but found a knife under the mini-bike’s seat.

Authorities identified the driver the next day. He faces multiple charges, including failure to comply, resisting arrest, and several traffic violations. Police are seeking a warrant for his arrest.
