
OHIO — The Richland County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect following a reported stabbing Wednesday afternoon.
According to a release from the sheriff’s office, deputies were notified around noon of a possible stabbing at a residence in the 400 block of North McElroy Road. When deputies arrived at the scene, the suspect was not located at the home.
The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment. Authorities said information about the suspect was limited and not very detailed at the time of the initial response.
Investigators are working to obtain a search warrant for the residence as the investigation continues. As a precaution, nearby Madison High School and Madison Junior High School were placed on a soft lockdown.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Fugitive Task Force, remains on the scene searching for the suspect. Officials have not released additional details.
